  • You must be temporarily unfit to perform your usual occupation.

Marketlink, Retained and Spouse members (including Elected Members and Casuals)

Income protection protects you and your family by providing cover when you need it most. If you can’t work due to injury or illness, your mortgage, bills and expenses still need to be paid.

Key criteria include:

  • Income protection is voluntary and subject to evidence of health on application.
  • You must also have either Age based or Fixed level Death and TPD cover to be eligible for Income protection.
  • Cover is in multiples of $500 per month subject to a minimum of 2 units per month, meaning the minimum cover that can be purchased is $12,000 p.a.
  • Cover is subject to a maximum of 75% of salary with a 90 day waiting period and payable for up to 2 years as fortnightly payments.
  • Proof of income will be required when members not working in local government lodge a claim. Proof of hours will also be required and members must have been working more than 15 hours per week over the previous six months.
